How do you know when he's the one?

Certainly, I can't really answer that since each and every one of us have our own "perceptions" on how we'll be able to say "he's the one i've been looking for; to spend my life with and grow old with." As you have guessed, I'm the type of gay who's looking for someone whom I can eternally share my life with.

I remember when my ex-boyfriend asked (after a hot and passionate sex) me what would happen to us after 10 or 20 years; when I heard that I suddenly cringed or somehow felt fear or doubt whether we'll last that long. I cannot imagine what kind of life we'll have in the future because of my certainty that it could not be "him".

I have a friend who has a boyfriend now for a year. I asked her if she had even thought of what life they could have in the future. She said that imagining it could be far-fetched, so i changed my question and asked her if she thinks he's the right one for her. She said its possible that it could be him. She said as compared to her previous relationship, the thought of finding of right guy at last didn't cross her mind (sounds like me on my ex).

People say that it's okay to undergo the selection process. Try for relationships and see if that would work out. Or in other words, take a chance of love, it MIGHT last. Somehow i'm confused on this part because I believe love blossoms thru choice, not just by chance. Is it by chance? choice? or even destiny? How will I know? Just follow my heart and it will take me there? Maybe yes or maybe not... Hmmm...

I'll try to reconcile those three: Love happens by CHANCE but it's your CHOICE to make it your DESTINY or not. I hope I get it right now.
