The cancer that's been plaguing our society is causing mass-wide suffering while the elite and the ruling class overdose themselves with morphine (which explains their hallucinations and obviously, numbness).
The reason why we can't see any change in our archipelago is we lack vision. That's why whatever we do, we still find ourselves in the same condition. We have resigned to our fate and become helpless. We have grown tired asking for change, we see things as pointless. Let's put it in this perspective --- imagine working in a team. And supposedly a team should have a goal and a single leader. All the members of a team brainstorm and discuss means to achieve their goals and come up with a single solution. Since everybody has direction, accomplishing their objectives is just chicken. Now put it in our situation, we are in a group where everybody is a leader whose mouth is frothing with saliva, with no apparent goal but to survive, and each is doing his own way of working with no sense of unity and coordination.
And what's the point? No matter who we elect to occupy Malacanang, if everybody won't cooperate and stop being stubborn and selfish, the same problems infecting us for decades would just perpetuate and continually torture us. The more opportunities for change we take for granted, the more these problems will become monstrous.
